It's so hard to give this one away. I would've loved to have been part of its full blown creation. Reincarnation is something that has fascinated me for a long time, most likely because who wouldn't want multiple chances to do things differently? To live more fully. To be a better person.
At its most basic, The Centenarian is a simple premise: a mysterious figure of unknown origin (for now) and supreme powers reincarnates every 100 years.
Obviously, what I like about this concept is that you have one continuous thread through what are potentially several different super heroes existing at different times. To explore the subject of reincarnation even further, it could be said that some incarnations were evil/lost/angry - the entire spectrum of the human experience.
Of course all of this leads to even more questions:
- Which time period should it start in? The past? The present? 2020? (Regardless, you could reference previous incarnations throughout. In fact, I'd be disappointed if you didn't.)
- Do different incarnations ever meet up somehow? I hope so.
The Centenarian was meant to be told in serial form—either as a comic book or a television series. But as this site intends, the idea is now unfettered. It's yours. Do with it what you will. Have fun. I hope it changes you. It changed me, just by thinking about it.
